Next New

I feel as if it is quite difficult to come up with a new technology because you feel as if there is so much out there already being created. A new technology could possibly more life like and virtual games, where your not only just playing the game but your in the game because of how real and life like it is. A game that comes to life essentially. That is definitely something for the future, needing much more advancements, but could be a possibility.

P2P

File sharing is the swapping, transmitting, or transferring of information over the Internet. Bit Torrent created by Bram Cohen, allows people to upload as well as download numerous amounts of data at a time. This is mass file sharing, also know as P2P file sharing, and accounts for approximately one third of all data being sent across the Internet. P2P file sharing allows users to access and download tons of media files such as games, books, movies, and other types of entertainment. P2P file searching helps to connect other computers who are using the same types of software to get access to downloading such different files as well. P2P file sharing can be used for a lot of good, but also a lot of bad. According to Brian Stelerter, of The New York Times using this type of fie sharing is how people are able to download a lot of illegal films and movies that have not been released just yet.  About 40 percent of revenue is lost each year due to the illegal download of movies and TV shows, says The Motion Picture Association of America.

Privacy

Privacy has become a major issue when it comes to using the Internet. When you post something and then delete it still leaves a footprint in the Internet, nothing is ever fully gone. Security is a problem because of a lot of hackers is able to breach a certain line and get into your personal information. Its hard for people to really know how safe what they are posting is. An example is the security breach of the website Ashley Madison, a website that allowed married folks to meet other married folks online. Hackers breached Ashley Madison’s security and released all of the names of the people using the website. This is just one of the many examples of how online access can lead to a lot of breaches of security. Another thing people can collect is what we research our search history and track us users through using cookies. Can that be considered an invasion of privacy? There is a lot of controversy and debate when it comes to the privacy of using the Internet. The most important thing is to not put too much important information online, and giving other peoples the chance to seize your information.
